Monday South Side Main Avenue Intersection Access Changes in West Fargo
July 25, 2016
Starting this week Morrison Street and 8th Street Main Avenue intersections will temporarily close for concrete paving on south side
Starting on Monday, July 25, crews will be moving the concrete paving operation to the east end of the work zone. The 6th Street SW intersection will reopen for access and the temporary access point for businesses will be removed. Non-truck traffic will still be able to use 2nd Avenue W as another access route to 6th St. SW. Crews will be closing 8th Street SW and Main Ave. intersection access to bring the mainline paving of the south side driving lane already complete on the west side across this intersection.
To support paving through the end of the work zone, crews will close Morrison Street and Main Ave. intersection to prepare the area for concrete work. Roadway removals at Morrison St. occurred last week.
Traffic is now being carried completely on the north side of Main Avenue from 12th Street W to Sheyenne Street. Drivers are head-to-head, one lane in each direction on the newly reconstructed north side roadway and all north side Main Ave. intersections are open for use.
This week the south side intersection access from Main Ave. will be:
- OPEN – 11th SW, 6th St. SW and Francis Street
- TEMPORARILY CLOSED – 8th SW and Morrison St.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and limit distractions through this dynamic work zone. Flaggers are present to help drivers navigate through the orange cones and speeds remain reduced to 25 mph.
