West Fargo Main Avenue Reconstruction Enters Last Phase of Project Work Tuesday
September 2, 2016
Next week traffic will split to north and south sides for crews to start median work
By the morning of Tuesday, September 6, traffic will be carried on the north and south side of Main Avenue in West Fargo. Crews will be splitting traffic to carry one lane in each direction on the outside driving lanes from west of 11th Street SW to Sheyenne Street.
The three-way stop at Sheyenne Street will be removed and the traffic signals at the intersection will again be used.
The Main Avenue intersections of Morrison Street, 6th Street SW/NW and 9th Street SW/NW will be open to traffic in all directions.
While crews work on the paving operations in the new median area, the south side intersections access for 11th Street SW and 8th Street SW will have these restricted movements:
– Open to right in/right out for eastbound traffic access
– Closed to westbound traffic access
Francis Street will remain closed to thru traffic while work continues in this area. Speeds remain reduced to 25 mph through the work zone.
Flaggers are present in this work zone to help direct truck traffic in and out of the flow of traffic. Please remove distractions and keep your eyes on the road through this dynamic work zone.
Public information meetings have concluded for this reconstruction project; however, if a resident or business owner does have project related questions they can stop by the weekly contractor meetings at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays at the West Fargo Public Works building off of 12th Avenue North.
The project is expected to be complete in early October, weather permitting.
